The Tile Sea Star, also known as the Marble Starfish, belongs to the Fromia species and is renowned for its stunning coloration among sea stars. Its central disc boasts shades of orange to deep red, while its arms display cream-colored spots adorned with a striking red edging.

In its natural habitat, the Tile Sea Star can be found on sandy substrates, among rocks, and occasionally climbing on anemones. With a constant appetite for micro-organisms and detritus, it thrives in aquariums with ample live rock to support its feeding habits. While it typically prefers a solitary lifestyle, in larger aquariums, it can coexist with others of its own species.

The Tile Sea Star is highly sensitive to sudden changes in oxygen levels, salinity, and pH of the water, emphasizing the need for a drip acclimation method to ensure a smooth transition. During handling, it must never be exposed to air.

To ensure a well-rounded diet, supplement its meals with small pieces of shrimp, mussel, or flaked food. Proper nutrition is vital for the well-being of the Tile Sea Star in the aquarium setting.
