The Rock Flower Anemone belongs to the Phymanthidae family and is also known as the Rock Anemone. These anemones come from the Caribbean and exhibit a wide range of colors. Their oral disc is typically a different color than the rest of their body. The tentacles often have a beaded appearance and the oral disc lacks tentacles altogether.
Rock Flower Anemones can live either alone or in groups and prefer to attach themselves to shaded, vertical rock walls or bury themselves in the substrate with only their oral disc and tentacles visible. They are resilient and can adapt to different lighting conditions. They are also known to stay in one place and make a great addition to any reef aquarium.
As carnivores, Rock Flower Anemones require a diet of meaty foods such as mussels, freshly chopped fish meat, and high-quality frozen foods. Iodine and trace elements should be added to the aquarium to help them thrive.
