The Annularis Angelfish, also known as the Blue Ring Angelfish and Blue King Angelfish, boasts sapphire stripes over its predominantly brown body and whitish-blue tail. However, it's important to note that this species is not suitable for a reef environment as it tends to nip at sessile invertebrates directly at the base, including corals, nudibranchs, and tridacnid clams. As such, a minimum tank size of 220 gallons with plenty of hiding places such as caves and live rock for grazing is necessary for a single Annularis.

It's also worth noting that the Annularis Angelfish is considered semi-aggressive and may become territorial once acclimated to the tank. As with all angelfish, it's hermaphroditic, and distinguishing between males and females is not visually possible.

To maintain a healthy diet, the Annularis Angelfish should be fed a mix of vegetables, meats, and angelfish food preparations containing spongiform products. When first introduced to the tank, it may be necessary to offer live foods such as brine shrimp or freshly chopped seafood to encourage it to eat.
