The French Angelfish is among the most sought-after varieties of angelfish in the aquarium hobby. Its countenance features a pale, dusky-blue face adorned with eyes encircled by a vibrant combination of yellow and white hues. The body exhibits a rich, dusky-blue hue with yellow margins along the scales, creating a captivating dappled pattern. Additionally, a distinct yellow smudge graces the pectoral fin, while a yellow rim embellishes the gill cover.

To provide an appropriate habitat for the French Angelfish, it is imperative to furnish a tank with a capacity of 250 gallons or more, complete with abundant live rock formations that serve as both shelter and grazing areas. However, it's important to note that this species is not conducive to a reef tank environment due to its proclivity for nipping at sessile invertebrates, including soft and stony corals, as well as clam mantles. Moreover, they tend to establish dominance within the tank.

In terms of diet, the French Angelfish requires a well-rounded menu that includes Spirulina, marine algae, occasional high-quality angelfish preparations supplemented with sponge matter, and mysis or frozen shrimp. Feeding should occur at least three times daily to ensure their nutritional needs are met.

The French Angelfish undergoes distinct color transformations as it matures. The Small Juvenile exhibits juvenile coloration or may be in the process of transitioning to young adult hues, while the Medium-sized individuals are considered sub-adults, and the Large-sized ones display the striking adult coloration characteristic of this species.
