The Lori's Anthias, a relatively recent discovery made just 25 years ago, goes by other names such as the Queen Tiger or Tiger Queen Anthias. In the wild, these fish are often spotted swimming in deep waters alongside other Pseudanthias species. We offer this species from the Cook Islands and Fiji only, as we ensure they are captured and handled with proper care. With a beautiful peach to orange coloration, the Lori's Anthias features broad, darker stripes on the dorsal part of its body.

When kept individually, a four-foot aquarium is sufficient to accommodate the needs of the Lori's Anthias. However, if you plan to keep a group of these fish, a larger tank of at least 70 gallons is recommended. This variety of Anthias is generally more docile compared to other types, and they may experience harassment if kept with more aggressive Anthias species in the same aquarium. When forming a group, it's best to limit it to all juveniles or females, with only one male present. Providing numerous caves and hiding places is essential to allow the more passive fish in the group to find shelter and feel secure.

Once acclimated to their new aquarium, the Lori's Anthias thrives on a varied diet. This should include offerings of frozen mysis shrimp, enriched frozen brine shrimp, and over time, they may also accept high-quality flake foods, provided in small quantities throughout the day. Additionally, having an attached refugium that cultivates copepods and amphipods serves as a valuable source of nutritious live food, ensuring that these active planktivores remain content and well-nourished.
