The Swales Swissguard Basslet is a strikingly beautiful fish that can be a great addition to a saltwater aquarium. Its elongated body is adorned with horizontal stripes in orange and purple, and its dorsal and caudal fins are rimmed in blue or purple with large black spots. This fish is peaceful and suitable for reef aquariums, but it can prey on smaller crustaceans that can fit into its mouth. Therefore, it is best to keep only one individual in a 10-gallon tank.
To ensure its health, the Swales Swissguard Basslet requires a carnivorous diet consisting of marine fish, crustacean flesh, mysis shrimp, and quality frozen preparations.
