Klein's Butterfly (Chaetodon kleini)
Max Size: 6 inches
Diet: Omnivore
Temperament: Peaceful
Reef Compatible: No
Minimum Tank Size: 120 gallons
The Klein's Butterflyfish is characterized by its predominantly golden-yellow coloration. It can exhibit either a black eye band or a combination of black and blue bands around its eyes.
When considering its housing requirements, the Klein's Butterflyfish can be accommodated in a 120-gallon aquarium or larger. It can coexist with other butterflyfish, including individuals of the same species, as long as they are introduced to the tank simultaneously. However, it is important to note that the Klein's Butterflyfish is not considered reef-safe, as it may consume leather corals and other soft corals. Despite this, it remains an excellent choice for beginner fishkeepers.
To meet its dietary needs, the Klein's Butterflyfish should be provided with a diet consisting of meaty items such as fish, crustaceans, mysis shrimp, and frozen marine preparations. Feeding should take place at least three times a day to ensure its nutritional requirements are met.
