The Ocellaris Clownfish is a popular marine fish in the aquarium industry due to its striking orange body with white bands outlined in black. There are variations of this fish, such as the Ocellaris Misbar with broken or disconnected bars and the Extreme Misbar with very few bars, sometimes only on one side of the body. This member of the Pomacentridae family is a great addition to any saltwater aquarium system. The Captive-Bred Ocellaris Clownfish has several advantages over wild-harvested species. Breeding Captive-Bred Ocellaris Clownfish in the home aquarium is simple. The female is typically larger, and the two fish will stay close to each other in the aquarium. The Clownfish is an egg layer and will deposit the eggs on a flat surface, defending them from other tank mates. Depending on the water temperature, the eggs will hatch in 6-11 days, and the fry must be reared in a separate aquarium, starting with a diet of rotifers and eventually baby brine shrimp.

The Ocellaris Clownfish is an aggressive eater and will accept most meaty foods and frozen herbivore preparations.
