The Ruby Red Dragonet, also known as the Ruby Dragonet, is a recently identified species of Dragonet originating from the Philippines. This captivating Dragonet exhibits stunning colors that will undoubtedly enhance the visual appeal and diversity of your aquarium.
To provide an ideal habitat for the Ruby Red Dragonet, a reef aquarium with a capacity of at least 30 gallons is recommended, accompanied by abundant live rock that serves as hiding places and a grazing area. The substrate should consist of live sand, and the tank should house peaceful inhabitants. It is possible to keep multiple individuals of this species, and it is advisable to introduce them all to the tank simultaneously. The recommended male-to-female ratio is 2 or 3 females per male. If more than one male is to be kept, a larger aquarium of at least 55 gallons is required.
The diet of the Ruby Red Dragonet should primarily include brine shrimp, bloodworms, glassworms, and small invertebrates. As slow-moving and deliberate feeders, they should not have to compete for their food, ensuring they receive adequate nutrition without difficulty.
