The Filamented Blue Gudgeon Dartfish, also known as the Threadfin Dart Goby, is native to the rubble zones of Cebu. Its elongated body features a pale blue or green coloration, and it stands out with its long flowing split tail. In their natural habitat, they often coexist with pistol shrimp in their burrows, although they don't interact directly. These dartfish prefer being in pairs and make a fantastic addition to both fish-only and reef aquariums.
To provide a suitable environment, the Filamented Blue Gudgeon Dartfish should be kept in a 30-gallon or larger aquarium with ample loose coral rubble and a sand bottom for burrowing. Due to their tendency to explore, it's important to have a tight-fitting lid to prevent them from jumping out of the aquarium through small openings. While they are rarely aggressive towards other fish, they may occasionally exhibit territorial behavior.
Feeding-wise, these dartfish mostly consume prey suspended in the water column but will also pick food from the substrate. A well-rounded diet should include mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, table shrimp, and frozen food preparations suitable for carnivores. Feeding them at least daily is recommended to ensure their well-being and vitality.
