The Broadstripe Goby is a captivating and visually striking fish with its vibrant neon-like colored stripe and captivating behavior. As the name suggests, its most distinctive feature is the broad and bright stripe that runs along the entire length of its body, enhancing its sleek and appealing appearance.
In its natural habitat, the Broadstripe Goby forms symbiotic relationships with other marine fish, providing them with a valuable cleaning service by removing ectoparasites from their bodies. In return, the Broadstripe Goby benefits by obtaining its primary source of food - ectoparasites.
To provide the best environment for the Broadstripe Goby, a 10-gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of live rock and a fine to moderately sized sand substrate is recommended. A horizontally oriented tank with ample living space is preferable over a taller one. It's essential to have a secure lid to prevent the goby from jumping out of the aquarium. Thankfully, the Broadstripe Goby is not typically aggressive towards other fish.
This goby species adapts well to reef aquariums. Its diet should consist of various small meaty foods or crustaceans such as vitamin-enriched brine shrimp and finely chopped mysis shrimp. To keep it healthy, it should be fed at least twice per day.
