The Yasha White Ray Shrimp Goby, also known as the Yasha Haze Goby or Clown Shrimp Goby, is a highly unique goby species that is not commonly found in the aquarium hobby. Its striking appearance sets it apart, with a vivid red and white broken striped body, a large dorsal fin, and a black patch under the jaw. The bright yellow opaque dorsal, anal, and caudal fins make it particularly attractive to most hobbyists. One fascinating aspect of this goby is its ability to form symbiotic partnerships with various species of pistol shrimp. It acts as a vigilant guardian while the shrimp constructs a burrow, which they share.

This goby is best suited for aquariums of 10 gallons or larger, provided they offer sufficient hiding places. It is important to have a tight-fitting lid on the aquarium to prevent the goby from jumping out. The Yasha White Ray Shrimp Goby is a peaceful species that can be kept either as an individual specimen or in small groups. It is highly resilient and adapts well to reef aquariums, as long as it is housed with non-aggressive tankmates. Ideally, this goby should be introduced as the first bottom-dwelling goby in an established aquarium, allowing it to establish its territory before more assertive gobies are added. It prefers a substrate of fine sand and loose coral rubble, which enables it to move around and dig its burrow.

For optimal nutrition, the Yasha White Ray Shrimp Goby should be fed a diet consisting of various fresh or frozen foods, such as mysis shrimp, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, and table shrimp. It is recommended to feed the goby at least twice a day to ensure its well-being.
