Reef Compatible: Yes
Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons
The Lagoon Shrimp Goby, a marine Goby species, exhibits a distinctive appearance featuring a greenish-yellow body and fins adorned with brown patterns, occasionally forming stripes on the fins. Adding intrigue and allure to their appearance are short, shimmering blue linear markings on their head and the base of their pectoral fins.
Similar to their goby counterparts, Cryptocentrus cyanotaenia thrive in saltwater tanks that boast a substrate of sand or gravel, providing the necessary depth for burrowing and foraging activities in search of sustenance. It is advisable to equip their habitat with a secure, snug-fitting lid or canopy to prevent any potential escapes.
These Lagoon Shrimp Gobies can attain a maximum size of approximately 5 inches and can comfortably coexist in a community tank alongside other small, peaceable aquatic species that share similar water requirements. Despite their amicable nature in a community setting, they do exhibit territorial behavior within their own species.
Being carnivorous by nature, their diet should encompass a variety of live and frozen foods, including Mysis and brine shrimp, along with other meaty offerings thoughtfully placed on the substrate for them to discover. This dietary regimen ensures their nutritional needs are met and contributes to their well-being.
