The Electric Blue Hermit Crab is an exceptionally rare species found exclusively in the Marshall Islands. It boasts mesmerizing blue legs with striking black banding, while its antennae stand out with a vibrant orange hue. The two claws are nearly equal in size and have a brownish-green coloration. This tiny crab makes its home in abandoned snail or triton shells, but it may also resort to attacking and consuming a snail to claim its shell as a dwelling.

As a valuable addition to an aquarium, the Electric Blue Leg Hermit Crab plays a significant role in algae control, consuming types such as green hair algae and cyanobacteria. Furthermore, it aids in aeration by sifting through the sand. The good news is that this Hermit Crab is considered reef-safe, making it a suitable choice for reef aquariums.

However, in cases where there is insufficient algae available, the Electric Blue Leg Hermit Crab will require additional nourishment and should be fed dried seaweed to ensure its well-being.
