The Hardwicke Wrasse, also known as the Sixbar Wrasse or Hardwick's Wrasse, exhibits a striking appearance as an adult with its pastel blue body adorned with six vertical dark body stripes. Its eyes are surrounded by a distinct "daisy" print featuring several pastel colors.

To ensure the well-being of the Hardwicke Wrasse, a spacious aquarium of at least 90 gallons is recommended. It is best to keep them with larger, aggressive tank mates, and provide plenty of rocks for hiding. Due to their territorial nature, it is advisable to add the Hardwicke Wrasse as the last addition to the aquarium to avoid any potential aggression towards new inhabitants. If the tank is 125 gallons or larger, they may be kept with a mate. While they may consume mantis shrimp and bristleworms, they do not harm corals or live plants.

In their natural habitat, the Hardwicke Wrasse feeds on fish, crustaceans, motile invertebrates, and worms. In the aquarium, it's essential to provide a well-rounded diet to meet their nutritional needs. Offer them a variety of feeder shrimp, marine flesh, frozen meaty preparations for carnivores, and flaked foods.
