Lemon Peel Angel (Centropyge flavissima)
Max Size: 5.5 inches
Diet: Omnivore
Temperament: Semi Aggressive
Reef Compatible: With Caution. May eat soft polyps.
Minimum Tank Size: 70 gallons
The Lemonpeel Angelfish is a yellow-colored fish with blue highlights on the lips, encircling the eyes, on the pectoral fins, and the tips of the dorsal, caudal, and anal fins. It is also known as the True Lemonpeel Angelfish to distinguish it from the False Lemonpeel Angelfish (C. heraldi), which lacks the blue highlights.
To keep a Lemonpeel Angelfish healthy and happy, provide it with a 70 gallon or larger aquarium that has plenty of hiding places and live rock for grazing on microalgae growth. However, be cautious of its tendency to nip at large-polyped stony corals and clam mantles. It's best to avoid keeping Lemonpeel Angelfish with fish of the same genera.
A varied diet is important for this fish, including Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, mysis or frozen shrimp, and other meaty items. Compared to most angelfish, the Lemonpeel Angelfish requires more algae and seaweed in its diet.
