Temperament: Peaceful
Reef Compatible: Yes
Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons
The Harptail Blenny is an ideal addition to any reef aquarium. With its stunning deep golden-yellow color and a hint of green above the eye, this fish is a sight to behold. Its dorsal fin is jet black, adding to its overall beauty.
To keep the Harptail Blenny happy and healthy, a tank of at least 30 gallons with live rock is recommended. These fish enjoy grazing on crustaceans found within the live rock. The Harptail Blenny is known for its passive nature and rarely bothers other tankmates. Interestingly, this species has venomous fangs that can bite the inside of a predator's mouth when ingested, causing the predator to spit out the blenny unharmed.
To maintain a well-balanced diet, the Harptail Blenny should be offered carnivorous foods as well as foods designed for herbivores. It's best to feed them small quantities of food several times a day.
