However, its most eye-catching features are the striking markings on its operculum and eyes, characterized by alternating blue and bright orange patterns.
To ensure the well-being of the Arc Eye Hawkfish, a spacious aquarium of at least 30 gallons is recommended. Due to its territorial nature, it is best to introduce this fish as the last addition to the tank community. Otherwise, it may become aggressive and harass new tankmates, especially other hawkfish and larger fish. If kept in a reef aquarium, caution should be exercised as the Arc Eye Hawkfish may prey on crabs, shrimp, anemones, and smaller fish.
Maintaining a balanced diet is crucial for the health of the Arc Eye Hawkfish. Their meals should comprise a variety of marine meats and live feeder shrimp to meet their nutritional needs and promote their well-being in captivity.
