The Long Tentacle Anemone, also known as the Corkscrew Anemone, Sand Anemone, Red Base Anemone, and Long Tentacle Red Base Anemone, shares similarities in appearance with Heteractis crispa, though it has fewer tentacles and a less sturdy column. Its oral disc is usually visible and can reach up to 20" in diameter, and its tentacles are more spaced out than other similar anemones. The base of the Long Tentacle Anemone is typically orange to red, and it can display various forms and color patterns. It is commonly used as a host by clownfish, particularly Amphiprion perideraion and A. clarki.

To thrive, the Long Tentacle Anemone requires an aquarium with a minimum of 4 inches of sand or rubble substrate for it to hide in. It feeds on small pieces of fish or mussel, crustaceans, and frozen foods.
