Red Hawkfish (Cyprinocirrhites polyactis)

The Red Hawkfish, also known as the Soaring, Swallowtail, or Lyretail Hawkfish, features a mottled orange to red body and is distinguished by its lyre-shaped tail.

For this robust and assertive fish, a 30-gallon or larger aquarium is suitable. If all are introduced simultaneously and there is ample space, multiple Red Hawkfish can coexist. Despite its tendency to consume small fish and shrimp, it can thrive in a reef environment given the right circumstances, where it utilizes anemones and large-polyped corals for shelter.

To maintain optimal health, the Red Hawkfish's diet should include a variety of marine meats, frozen preparations, and live feeder shrimp.
