The Royal Gramma Basslet is a stunning addition to any saltwater aquarium, featuring a bright purple to violet anterior and vibrant yellow posterior. Its unique color pattern and small adult size make it a great choice for beginners and small nano reef systems. Indigenous to deep-water reefs in the Caribbean, this member of the Grammidae family prefers extensive rockwork caves for hiding and subdued lighting. Due to its territorial aggression towards its own kind, the Royal Gramma Basslet should be kept singly, but is generally peaceful towards tankmates of similar size and temperament.
For optimal care, house the Royal Gramma Basslet in a reef system of at least 30 gallons and provide a varied diet of meaty foods, such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and quality frozen preparations.
