Segmented / Golden Tiger Sailfin Blenny (Escenius segmentatus)
Max Size: 4 inches
Diet: Herbivore
Temperament: Peaceful
Reef Compatible: With Caution. May nip at coral polyps and clam mantles.
Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons
The Golden Tiger Blenny is commonly found on shallow reefs and estuaries, and they have a territorial nature, defending small patches of algae where they feed. Their juveniles are yellow, while the adults are typically a dark brown to black color.
While they may nip at clam mantles and small polyps of stony corals, the Golden Tiger Blenny can be kept in an aquarium with sufficient algae, or with added supplements if needed. It's recommended to provide rock structures with multiple hiding spots to allow the fish to retreat and feel secure.
