To ensure the best care for the Spotted Hawkfish also known as the Blotched Hawkfish, it's essential to provide them with a spacious aquarium of at least 40 gallons or larger, complete with ample live rock for structure and hiding places. Although these fish are hardy, they can exhibit aggressive behavior, so it's advisable not to house them with larger, more aggressive hawkfish. When adding them to a tank that already houses smaller bottom-dwelling species like gobies and blennies, caution is necessary. As bottom dwellers, Spotted Hawkfish prefer to perch on rocks, patiently waiting for passing food opportunities.

Maintaining their health and vitality in captivity requires a well-balanced diet. This should consist of a variety of marine meats, frozen preparations, and live feeder shrimp to meet their dietary requirements effectively.
