The Top Crown Snail is a valuable addition to your aquarium, playing a crucial role in maintaining a clean substrate, glass, and rock surfaces. As a nocturnal feeder, it tends to be more active and visible during the nighttime hours.
When it comes to their diet, Top Crown snails are efficient algae eaters and will graze on algae present on rockwork and glass surfaces. Additionally, they are excellent at keeping sediment in the substrate under control. In most cases, no supplemental feedings are required as they can sustain themselves on available algae in the aquarium.
However, if there is a scarcity of algae, it is advisable to provide some additional food. One effective method is to wrap a piece of dried seaweed around a rock and place it in the aquarium. This will ensure that the Top Crown snails have sufficient nourishment even when algae levels are low.
